At the heart of São Paulo, the iconic Catedral da Sé has become the stage for Luminiscence – Lights of São Paulo, an immersive 360° audiovisual journey blending centuries of history with cutting-edge projection technology. The show, presented by Endemol Shine Brasil, transforms one of Latin America’s most symbolic religious and cultural landmarks into a living canvas of light, sound, and emotion.

Immersive storytelling in Catedral da Sé
Created by LOTCHI in France and now an international cultural phenomenon, Luminiscence has captivated more than one million visitors worldwide. Its São Paulo edition marks the first time the experience is presented inside a major Latin American monument.
The show combines 360° video mapping, live symphonic music, choir performances, and narrated storytelling. Every column, vault, stained-glass window, and carved detail becomes part of the narrative thanks to precise, large-scale projection mapping.
Lighting a vast monument with precision
The production required exceptionally high brightness, image clarity sharp enough to reveal delicate carvings and stained-glass details, and reliable performance for a show running multiple times each week. WWT, Barco’s official distributor for LATAM, managed the supply and logistics of all 30 projectors.
Transforming a historical landmark of this magnitude into an immersive experience required absolute technical precision, deep respect for the space, and flawless integration between technology and storytelling.
— Fernando Contreras, VP of Production, Endemol Shine Brasil
Using G-series projectors, the Luminiscence team created a 360° visual experience where every surface of the Cathedral becomes an active storytelling element — from soaring vaults to intricate carvings representing Brazilian flora and fauna.
